J.R.R. Tolkien: The Man Who Created the Lord of the Rings by Michael Coren Hardcover UK Edition
As the last millennium drew to a close all sorts of newspapers and organisations organised surveys to find out which was the most popular book of all time. The Lord of the Rings came first in all of them. When NewLine Cinema previewed the trailer of the first film in the much-anticipated The Lord of the Rings trilogy, 1.7m people downloaded the clip in the first twenty four hours, completety trouncing the previous record-holder, Star Wars Episode I Phantom Menace. Michael Coren has written a short young-adult biography of the man and the book to tie in with the release of the first film in the trilogy Unlike other biographies of Tolkien, Coren's book will be aimed sqaurely at the younger reader and will have over 50 b/w photos integrated into the text.
